It is my privilege to serve at Challenge Academy since June 2003 which is an alternate Minneapolis public school. Minneapolis public schools have taken immense steps to keep the teachers well informed about the evolving technology available. They organize various trainings as staff development by posting them through eCompass.
After completing my masters in mathematics and education in India, I was teaching in a private institution known as Jawahar Higher Secondary School in a small town called Neyveli, for about twenty years.It was during this time that my husband moved to US to pursue his career as software engineer. This was a drastic change in our forties and I followed him to Minneapolis along with my daughter who was in her middle school. It was a great adventure to visit US schools as a parent and I was able to volunteer in the middle and high schools. I was taken aback by the choices offered to the students and especially as a math teacher, it was awesome to note the opportunities available for those who wanted to take challenging courses.
Consistency and dedication is what is needed to impact students.
